Mass with the Holy Father

Our Holy Father, our Papa, came to the United States and brought with him Christ's message of hope and peace. Thirty teens from St. Martin's gathered at 5:30am on April 17th to travel to the National's stadium and participate in the Sacrifice of the Mass offered by Pope Benedict XVI. What a blessing it was for our young people to participate in this holy event!

When B16 Says Mass at the Nat's Stadium ... We're Gonna B There!

The Pope is coming to Washington, DC and We Have Tickets!!!

Thanks be to God and to the generosity of our pastor, we have been given a limited number of tickets to the Pope's Mass on April 17th!

These will be made available to high school members of our youth group who would like to enter into the lottery for a ticket. We ask that teens who are already going to see the Holy Father in Sydney this summer; and those who have the opportunity to attend the Mass with their Catholic schools; to understand that you will be placed on a waiting list for a seat. We want to be as fair as possible.

To enter the lottery for a ticket, pick up a green entry form at youth group on Friday nights or at the parish office during the week. No registrations will be taken over the phone or by email.

Papa Benedicto

Pope Benedict XVI is coming to Washington, DC and we can win tickets!

How? We're going to enter a video contest! We have to make a video welcoming the Holy Father to the United States. Below you can read the guidelines. I think we can win.

Are you still praying your guts out for tickets? This could be our shot!

Comment to this post if you have suggestions for the video.

• Create an original short film to welcome Pope Benedict to Washington, DC. The
goal of the video is to relay your community’s enthusiasm for the Holy Father’s
visit, express your excitement or show how you are uniquely preparing for his
arrival.

• Videos will be judged on creativity, not polish! Use your imagination. We
welcome original songs, prayers, skits, interviews, etc. (Copyrighted material may
be not used unless permission has been granted for its use.)

A Bright Idea

The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, is coming to

GAITHERSBURG!!!

Well, not exactly.

But he IS coming to Washington, D.C., and that's just a few miles away! While he is here, there will be several events open to the public, including a Mass offered by the Holy Father at National's Stadium. These events are free, but to help regulate crowd control, typically require a ticket to get in.

So here's the bright idea. Let's get tickets and go!

Psych. The tickets will be really hard to get - usually a lottery will determine who goes to the Mass. So let's pray. Maybe God WANTS the St. Martin Youth Group to go, and all we have to do is ask Him to get us the tickets. If you'd like to go, leave a comment to this post, and start praying your guts out!
